We are an exceptional and ambitious school where curiosity and responsibility shape a calm, purposeful community.

A Welcome from Our Head, Mr David Weston
Kingshott is a happy, ambitious school where children are not simply at the centre of what we do, but the reason we do it. Our values of curiosity, responsibility and ambition shape the rhythm of daily life here.
Together, they create a calm but purposeful community, one in which children feel confident enough to ask questions, inspired to explore new ideas, and secure in the knowledge that they are known and valued.
We see education not as a standardised process, but as both a personal journey and a shared experience. Every child arrives with their own interests, character and way of seeing the world. There is no such thing as a “typical” Kingshott pupil, and we are better for it. Rather than a one‑size‑fits‑all approach, our teachers build strong, thoughtful relationships that allow each child to thrive in their own way, while enriching the life of the school as a whole.
We warmly invite families to visit Kingshott and experience the atmosphere for themselves. A school reveals far more in conversation than in description, and we look forward to welcoming you.
Warm regards,
David Weston
Head
Our approach
Happiness and wellbeing sit behind every decision we make. Children learn best when they feel secure, relaxed and confident, yet appropriately stretched. We help pupils develop determination and ambition without unnecessary pressure, and foster a culture of kindness, respect and shared success, both in and beyond the classroom. Our campus, set within acres of green space on the edge of Hitchin, is deliberately inspiring.
Modern light‑filled classrooms, specialist teaching spaces and exceptional outdoor facilities support a broad, dynamic and creative curriculum and remind children that learning doesn’t only happen at a desk. We believe a truly rounded education matters. From languages, science and mathematics to sport, art, drama and music, our pupils enjoy high‑quality teaching across every subject. They are encouraged to explore, to challenge themselves, and to develop the resilience, creativity and confidence that will serve them long after they leave.
The Foundations of Our Community
Our School Values
Ambition
To be ambitious for both my own learning and personal growth, and for the growth and development of others.
Responsibility
To have responsibility to our community, our learning, our planet and to each other.
Curiosity
To question, explore, and seek purpose with curiosity and inquisitiveness.
At Kingshott, our values centre on Ambition, Responsibility and Curiosity, the qualities we believe shape confident, grounded and forward‑thinking young people. We encourage pupils to be ambitious in their learning and personal growth, responsible in the way they contribute to their community, and curious about the world around them.
Kingshott Values
Why Kingshott?
Education works best when children feel happy, secure and known. Kingshott offers a co‑educational experience for pupils aged 3–16 where happiness, wellbeing and pastoral care confidently underpins everything. We believe children make the greatest progress when they feel secure to be curious and supported enough to be ambitious. This is an academically rigorous school, but not a narrow one.
Exceptional teaching ensures every child is stretched without being rushed, challenged without being pressured, and encouraged to think for themselves. Learning here is purposeful, engaging and designed to last longer than exams.
Set within acres of Hertfordshire countryside, Kingshott gives children the space, both literal and intellectual to grow. Outstanding facilities, including modern science laboratories, a state‑of‑the‑art 3D Design Studio and bright, spacious learning environments, support curiosity, creativity and confidence. These are not just impressive buildings; they are places where ideas are tested, explored and turned into understanding.

Beyond the Classroom
Pupils enjoy a rich and varied school life. An extensive co‑curricular programme, from sport and music to drama, clubs and enrichment activities, broadens horizons, builds character and allows children to discover talents they didn’t yet know they had.
As part of the Mill Hill Education Group, Kingshott benefits from shared expertise, collaboration and a clear educational ethos. This strengthens teaching, enhances pupil support and places Kingshott within a forward‑thinking family of schools offering both continuity and opportunity as children move confidently into the next stage of their education. In short, Kingshott is a school that understands progress is about more than outcomes.
It’s about growing capable, curious and resilient young people who are ready for what comes next.
