Year 5 take a trip back in time at the British Schools Museum
Year Five had the opportunity to visit the wonderful British Schools Museum as part of their history curriculum.
Whilst there, the pupils dressed up in Victorian costumes and ‘enjoyed’ a Victorian style lesson of the 3 R’s, reading, writing (on a slate and with a traditional ink pen), and arithmetic (with the challenge of pounds, shillings and farthings!).
In addition to their school lesson they explored the fascinating Headmaster's house filled with Victorian treasures and artefacts.
This is one of many trips and activities that pupils at Kingshott School enjoy - which brings their learning to life. We are incredibly lucky that this excellent museum is on our doorstep in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.
