Joining Kingshott at 13+
With our move to offer GCSEs, we are now able to warmly welcome pupils into Year 9 via two separate pathways:
13+ Entry Pathway (for students currently in Year 8): Families looking to join Kingshott into Year 9 are now able to do so, spaces permitting, by taking part in our Assessment Morning in January before the September they are due to join. Students are also able, and encouraged, to apply for our Year 9 Scholarships. This pathway option is suited to pupils in prep schools who haven’t already secured a guaranteed place via Deferred Entry, or who are reconsidering their choices and are looking for an independent school that now better fits their needs. Year 9 entry is also suitable for pupils in state schools who wish to move ahead of their GCSEs.
Year 6 Deferred Entry Pathway: Families looking to secure their 13+ (Year 9) place in advance are also able to do so. Pupils sit the same Assessment Morning in Year 6 as the candidates looking for a Year 7 place. This takes place in the January before they move into Year 7. If they are successful, they are offered a guaranteed place at Kingshott for the start of their Year 9. Parents are required to reserve this guaranteed place with a non-refundable deposit of £1000. Students are then invited back in the January before they join to take part in our Scholarship Assessment, should they wish to apply.
