Journey to Joining

Kingshott is a warm, welcoming community. We know choosing a new school can feel daunting for children and parents, and we are proud to support families in finding the right fit and guiding them through the journey to joining Kingshott.

Below is our step-by-step guide for prospective families. Further details on assessments and Admissions FAQs are available in our Key Information booklet at the bottom of this page.

1. Find out more about Kingshott

Request our prospectus, explore our latest news, or contact Admissions for an informal chat.

Contact: Mrs Payne, Admissions Manager on 01462 432009 or via admissions@kingshottschool.com.

2. Come and visit us

Book a private tour, attend an Open Event, or join a Kingshott Totts session (perfect for Nursery and Reception enquiries). Families are welcome to visit as often as they wish to experience life at Kingshott.

3. Register your child

To join Kingshott, complete our Registration Form. A non-refundable fee applies: £100 for Nursery and £120 for Reception and above (inclusive of VAT). Registration confirms interest, subject to availability.

For Years 1–6, mid-year entry to Reception, or Year 7, please contact us to first confirm availability and discuss your child’s position on the waiting list. Early registration is recommended, though we understand relocation may require a quicker process.

4. Offering your child a place

Children may join throughout the year, subject to age and availability.

  • Nursery: Offers made as children approach their third birthday; places allocated year‑round.
  • Reception: Children and parents attend a ‘Getting to Know You’ session; offers are usually made in December for September entry (timings may vary).
  • Senior School (Years 7–9): Children attend an Assessment Morning in January, with later assessments if spaces remain.
  • Year 6 Deferred Entry Pathway: Available for families securing a 13+ place (details in the Information Booklet).

Children for other year groups (Year 1 upwards) are considered against our assessment criteria, with offers made when we can meet each child’s needs while maintaining balanced year groups.

5. Accepting a place

To accept a place, complete our Acceptance Form and pay a £500 deposit, deducted from your final account when your child leaves. The deposit is non‑refundable if your child does not join. Once accepted, families are invited to tailored Joining Events to support a smooth transition.

At every stage of your Journey to Joining Kingshott School, Mrs Payne is here to help. Please contact her on 01462 432009 or via admissions@kingshottschool.com
