The Year 5s returned to school to the terrifying news that a dragon had been spotted flying above Kingshott! Fearless, daring and hungry for adventure, the Year 5 students set out on a dragon hunt to ensure the safety of the rest of the school. Incredibly, the brave bunch of explorers found not only claw marks and giant footprints, but even a small nest of eggs in what we believe may be an ancient dragon burial site. Then, the truly intrepid amongst them, actually found the dragon’s lair, where, thankfully, the terrifying beast was sleeping.
To finish off their lesson, the Year 5s entered a Viking settlement to start reading Cressida Cowell’s fabulous “How to Train Your Dragon”, which is the core text for English work this half term.
Should any of you want further evidence of dragon activity at Kingshott, take a look at the low lying branch of the Wellingtonia nearest the swimming pool. Can you spot the face of a dragon in it?
