Christmas carols & music at Kingshott

It has been a busy half term for Music at Kingshott....

We have really enjoyed spending the last week of term visiting elderly residents' homes and local Hitchin businesses to sing some of our favourite carols and Christmas songs! The audiences at both Foxholes and Park House were brilliant and sang along with enthusiasm to their favourite numbers, whilst we also enjoyed singing to the customers and passers-by at the Hermitage Coffee Shop. The students sang beautifully at all the venues - bringing festive cheer to all those who listened!

The String Group, Brass Group, Flute Group and Chamber Orchestra also delighted our Junior pupils with renditions of classical Christmas carols and songs in an assembly in the last week of term. The children heartily sang along and the encore favourite voted for was Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer! Thanks to all our music teaching staff for rehearsing the students so well and to the students themselves for performing with enthusiasm!

The term ended with a beautiful carol service in the historic St. Mary's Church. With its roots tracing back to King Offa in 792 AD, the church provided the perfect setting for reflection and celebration, giving us all a sense of peace and continuity as we head into the holiday season.
