Fantastic Indonesian Gamelan workshop!
Year 5 enjoyed participating in a fantastic Indonesian Gamelan workshop!
Mike from InspireWorks brought a whole orchestra of Balinese Gamelan instruments into school and the students explored different instruments, timbres and cyclical structures, before coming together to perform an ensemble piece.
The workshop was very informative and Mike explained about the context, culture and etiquette of Gamelan music to ensure the students developed a well-rounded knowledge of this fascinating musical style. It is clear to see from the photos how much focus and enjoyment the students got from the sessions!
