On Thursday Year 6 pupils had the opportunity to visit the magnificent Warwick Castle as part of the historical study of the Medieval World.
On arrival the pupils learnt more about castle defence and attack with an enthusiastic guide, they enjoyed learning that the moat was once filled with human waste to deter intruders!
We were fortunate that there was a Festival of Archery taking place whilst we were there and the children were impressed by the skills of the master bowman.
Exploration of the castle continued into the afternoon with some pupils climbing to the top of the tower to survey the excellent strategic position that the castle has. Other pupils took part in a hair raising sword demonstration which was great fun.
A fantastic day was had by all and greatly enriched their in class learning of this fascinating period of History.
