We were delighted to welcome Olympic swimmer Adam Whitehead to Kingshott last week, thanks to our new Swim@Kingshott partnership. Adam delivered an engaging assembly to pupils from Years 3 to 9, sharing his experiences at the Olympics and Commonwealth Games. Pupils enjoyed learning about both his achievements and the challenges he faced throughout his career. His talk offered valuable insights into the dedication and resilience required to compete at an elite level.
As part of the assembly, Adam invited Madame Mahan, Mr Weston, Mr Davey, and Mr Tatham to take part in a dry swimming race, demonstrating four different techniques. The event provided some light-hearted entertainment, with Madame Mahan’s Butterfly technique emerging as the clear winner.
Following the assembly, Adam joined the Kingshott scholars for lunch in the Head’s office, where he answered questions during a Q&A session. Pupils had the opportunity to learn more about his training, experiences, and the mindset needed to succeed in competitive swimming.
The visit was a valuable experience for both pupils and staff, offering inspiration and practical lessons from Adam’s journey in professional sport.
