Nursery have enjoyed learning about all the signs of winter we experienced this week - hail, snow, ice and frost! The children went on a walk around the beautiful Kingshott School grounds to see the frost sparkling on leaves and to feel the crunchy grass.
They have also been learning to identify British birds, and made oil pastel drawings of them to display. In these freezing temperatures they were learning that it is difficult for the birds to find food. So the Nursery children decided to make some bird cakes for the birds with mealworms and seeds! They had to follow the recipe and method to measure half a cup of each. Now the Nursery children are hoping to spot a few more of the smaller birds they have been learning about coming to eat the cakes they made for them. As some of the more common birds sighted at Kingshott are lots of crows and red kites flying overhead.
Families who are interested in finding out more about our "Excellent" rated Kingshott Nursery are encouraged to book onto one of our upcoming Open Events or to attend our Kingshott Totts Stay and Play session.
