Kingshott is a proud advocate of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and is in the process of collecting evidence for a Gold award of recognition. The children all learn about the rights of the child and discuss how this links to equality, diversity and inclusion across the globe.
The UNICEF committee are active participants as ambassadors for UNICEF within the school. So, last week our UNICEF Ambassadors from Years 6 and 7 visited Reception to talk about The Rights of the Child.
This is part of our Ambassadors' plans for introducing these important concepts to all the children in Pre Prep. The Reception children listened to a story called Lubna and Pebble by Wendy Meddour and Daniel Egneus. The story is about the power of friendship: Lubna’s best friend is a pebble.
The Unicef Ambassadors then helped all the Reception children decorate their own pebbles and these will be left in strategic places around the school grounds – so please do look out for them!
