Preparing for Matilda!
It's an exciting time in the term as we head towards our amazing whole school production of Matilda!
As well as all of the rehearsals, the Art Department is incredibly busy building the set. Year 7 pupils had an exciting day learning new sculpture techniques and creating some huge pieces of work for the set. Darcy Turner, a sculpture and inventor, visited the school to teach the pupils how to cut, bend and manipulate wire into different forms. The pupils then had to work together in their teams to make the enormous wire gates for the entrance to 'Crunchem Hall' school and a large Mrs Trunchbull. The final results looked brilliant and will be on stage during the show for all to see.
Pupils have also enjoyed taking part in a circus skills activity - to prepare themselves for the play... much fun was had, whilst also developing confidence and co-ordination.
