Recorders... the start of a musical journey at Kingshott!
Music is an important part of life at Kingshott. As well as having the chance to perform in amazing musicals like Matilda Junior - pupils can enjoy learning various instruments, or being part of a variety of groups and clubs.
Our musical grounding begins early - with children in Nursery upwards being encouraged to sing and enjoy music making.
In Year 2 upwards all children are able to learn the recorder with a specialist recorder teacher each week. This week saw the culmination of the first year of learning - as their recorder players treated their friends and families to a confident and varied performance of recorder pieces in their assembly.
Each group played a piece they had prepared with their group and showcased the many musical skills they had learnt in lessons this year. We were all impressed with the way they were able to play so well together and perform their pieces so professionally. They were a real inspiration for the Year 1 children who will be starting recorder in September. Well done Year 2 recorders!
